BIOS:

Stand-Up Comedian: Amber Whitford
Amber Whitford is California native whose very serious work has taken her all over the state meeting interesting people. “The one thing I learned in my travels was that everyone loves to laugh.”
Whitford’s comedy idols are Phyllis Diller, Jerry Lewis, and Whoopi Goldberg. “Stand-up comedy has been my dream as long as I can remember. I kept a section in my diaries and journals for “jokes and stories” since the 3rd grade. There was lots of Amelia Earhart material in the early days.”
“A few years ago my most favorite cousin was diagnosed with terminal cancer and we started immediately working on her bucket list,” says Whitford about wanting to get the most out of life. “I decided I wanted my bucket empty when I died. Maybe make a new bucket list every day.”
Reflecting on her path into stand-up comedy, Whitford says that “Work stress and my day-to-day experiences as a Black woman in America sent me to therapy. After 5 years of therapy, support from my husband and encouragement from some very funny friends I took the plunge, hit the open mic and never looked back.“
“Standup is terrifying and fantastic and it gives me a space to express myself. “
Amber is the host of the monthly Invisible Disabilities Comedy Show and the Show Your ID Open Mic, a mixed open mic at Luna’s Cafe 2nd Wednesdays monthly. Follow her on Facebook @AmberComedy.

Stand-Up Comedian: Elisia Gonzales
Elisia Gonzales is fresh on the scene as a stand-up comedian but she’s no stranger to the stage. She’s opened for recognizable actor/comedians like Nick Offerman and David Koechner and started her entertainment career hosting local events. As a growing comedian, she’s performed all over Northern California including guest appearances at the Punchline San Francisco, San Jose Improv, Laughs Unlimited, Punchline Sacramento, Cobb’s Comedy Club, Tommy T’s and even The World Famous Comedy Store. Her witty story telling is inspired from growing up poor, being a single mom and real life experiences. When she’s not making people laugh, she’s hosting charity events, taking dance classes and acting.

Stand-Up Comedian: Skip Bacon
Skip Bacon is a stand-up comedian who got her start at Sacramento’s Comedy Spot but her vivid storytelling and hilarious true stories have been making people laugh since her childhood in southern Indiana. From her relatable observations to her witty discussion of busty nuns, Skip is a comedian who is sure to entertain.

Stand-Up Comedian: Amy Estes
Amy Estes started doing comedy around the kitchen table with her very funny family, but didn't take to the stage doing comedy until she was 34. Based in Northern California, Amy has performed at clubs like Sacramento's Laugh's Unlimited, the Punch Line San Francisco and Sacramento, and the World Famous Comedy Store, as well as many clubs and events all over Northern California and the Women In Comedy Festival in Boston, MA, as well as the Portland Queer Comedy Festival & SF Sketchfest. She has opened for incredible comedians such as Julie Goldman, Rhea Butcher, and Gina Yashere.

Improviser: Shoana Hunt
Shoana was born at a remarkably early age. She was raised in the local community theaters by the many ghosts that reside in them. While currently studying at Sierra College, Shoana has plans to move to Chicago in the near future and to continue her theatre, improv, and comedy studies there.

Improviser: Ciara Cumiskey
Student of comedy, art, and life, Ciara is proud to be Blacktop performer and organizer going on 2 years. She wears many hats, often with a feather, and speckled with paint. Ciara has recently delved into scripted acting and plans on tackling stand-up over the coming year.

Improviser: Jess Deprez
Jes is delighted to perform on the same stage as so many talented ladies in FUNNY FEMMES Fierce Comedy. She brings more than 10 years of improv experience to the stage for your enjoyment. When she is not performing improv or trying to pay the bills (or both), she enjoys participating in intense staring contests with her dog.

Improviser: Priya Kumar
Priya is an improviser in the Sacramento area who hopes to bring you laughs and maybe tears (the good kind). When she’s not playing on the stage with many of the amazing improvisers she’s met over the years, you’ll find her daydreaming mostly, and contemplating reality
