One of the best things about having a theater in Placer is the community. Everyone is very supportive, and interested in what you do. However, being discovered is a challenge. Thankfully, numerous events are thrown every year that give the community a chance to discover new businesses and nonprofits. Organizations that don’t have huge marketing budgets get a chance to be seen and talked about. It’s a great chance for people to learn about what’s happening in Roseville, Rocklin, Loomis, and Auburn. The Loomis their Thursday Night Family Fest is just such an event. Come out this Thursday and have some fun! You can check out the great farmer’s market, local artists, a family fun zone, and food trucks. Beer and wine is available too. Loomis has some incredible wineries and breweries tucked away in the foothills, so the selection of wine and craft beers is really excellent. You’ll even spot Blacktop Comedy this Thursday. We’ll have a booth out there letting people know about our July shows and classes. We have some exciting things coming up, including an improvised musical! We’ll have the brand new flyers and information out at the event. We’re excited to debut it at Family Fest! While the Blacktop Comedy is in Rocklin we can’t wait for Loomis to discover the local comedy club right in their neighborhood! The Family Fest runs weekly, through July 30th, 6-9pm. Personally, I’ll be there at 5pm, but considering the weather I would suggest getting there anytime after 7p. Give Loomis some time to cool down before you come out. There’s always cold beer, though. That’s a pretty great way to cool down. Also, this Thursday, at 8:45pm, the Loomis Family Fest is offering a free showing of The Goonies! Catch the 80’s classic on the big screen again, or share it with someone who has never seen it. Never seen the Goonies!? It’s true. These people exist. I want them to experience all the greatness that is Mikey, Data, Brand, Chunk, Andy, Stef, Sloth, and Mama Fratelli. The show is Loomis is completely free, and begins at 8:45pm, and will be at Peter Oaks Stage.
If you have never been to Loomis Thursday Night Family Fest, it’s very easy to find. Exit 80 at Sierra College Blvd. Take a left, you’ll pass Studio Movie Grill. Take Taylor Road to 3640 Horseshoe Bar Rd. I know you can exit 80 at Horseshoe Bar Road, but I find you will hit a lot of traffic. It’s easier to park off Taylor.
