This is what you’ve been working towards! Welcome to Level 3. This is where we put together the pieces of your improv education. You’re about to learn the Harold. Get excited!
Del Close developed this long form improvisation format at iO in Chicago over 20 years ago. Nearly everything in improv is a variation off the Harold, and now you’re part of that history. Yeah, like we said, get excited!
Your instructor, Paul Burke, studied the Harold in Chicago at iO. He was fortunate to go through their entire program, and is excited to share what he learned from some of the best instructors in the world.
Level 3 class will culminate in an exhibition performance on the Blacktop stage. A celebration of all your hard work! (invite your friends and family. It’s going to be fun!)
Paul Burke and Betsaida Lebron are directors and performers at Blacktop Comedy and founding members of The Colony. They bring a combined 12 years of experience to the stage. They have played with well-known improvisers in Chicago, Los Angeles, Austin, Seattle and San Francisco.
